Ondřej Němec and the Experience Powering Euro Blade Worx

When EURO BLADE WORX (EBX) launched in South Moravia, Czech Republic, it was created to be more than a manufacturing facility. It was built as a next-generation knife manufacturing and logistics hub, one designed to serve the European market with premium production, faster fulfillment, and a stronger connection between world-class knife brands and European customers.
At the center of that effort is Ondřej Němec.
Now serving as Managing Director of Euro Blade Worx, welcomed to the Spartan Blades team of designers and retained as part of the KA-BAR design team, Ondřej brings with him a deep and practical understanding of the knife industry. In his work with KA-BAR, he is helping refresh the company’s line and support its move into a new period of exciting growth. Taken together, these roles reflect not only his design talent but also the trust that leading knife brands place in his vision, experience, and understanding of where the industry is headed.
Ondřej’s path into the knife world started early. As a very young man, he began his career at Mikov, one of the Czech Republic’s best-known knife makers. That early experience gave him firsthand exposure to manufacturing discipline, function-driven design, and the realities of producing knives at a high level. Combined with his upbringing in his father’s workshop, it helped shape a lasting respect for craftsmanship and for tools made with real purpose.
Over time, that foundation developed into something bigger.
Ondřej would go on to become the co-founder of ANV Knives and Acta Non Verba Knives, where he helped create a modern Czech knife brand recognized for its clean lines, refined styling, and practical performance. His work with ANV established him as a respected figure in the knife industry and demonstrated his ability to build products that balance innovation, aesthetics, and real-world functionality. His philosophy has remained consistent throughout: create designs that endure and deliver proven, trusted performance over time.
That depth of experience is a major reason why he is such a natural fit for Euro Blade Worx.
EBX was formed to solve a clear need in the European marketplace. As Spartan Blades and KA-BAR expanded their presence across Europe, customers increasingly faced the same obstacles: high shipping costs, import duties, VAT, and long delivery times. The answer was not simply to improve overseas distribution. The answer was to establish a manufacturing base in Europe itself.
That vision became Euro Blade Worx.
Formed by Pineland Cutlery, Inc., the joint venture between Spartan Blades and KA-BAR, EBX combines more than 153 years of knife-making experience with advanced European production capability. Based in South Moravia, the facility offers state-of-the-art machining, grinding, knife assembly, and full-service European operations. In its inaugural phase, EBX is focused on producing and fulfilling Spartan Blades and KA-BAR knives throughout the European Union, reducing delivery times and removing many of the barriers that previously stood between premium brands and European customers.
But the strength of EBX lies in more than equipment or infrastructure. It also lies in the people shaping its direction.
Ondřej Němec brings a rare perspective to the role. He understands knife manufacturing from the shop floor up. He has worked inside an established Czech maker. He has helped build a premium modern brand through ANV. He has collaborated with respected international companies as a designer. And now, through his work with EBX, Spartan Blades, and KA-BAR, he is helping connect product development, manufacturing, and brand evolution in a way that few people in the industry can.
That is part of what makes EBX so compelling.
Euro Blade Worx is not simply a European production outpost. It is a purpose-built hub designed to support premium knife brands in a meaningful way. It shortens the distance between design and delivery, between legacy companies and modern markets, and between customer demand and regional production. Over time, its capabilities are expected to grow beyond Spartan Blades and KA-BAR, opening the door for other global knife brands looking to enter or expand within the European market.
Ondřej’s earlier collaboration with Spartan Blades already demonstrated how naturally his design language aligned with the company’s standards. The Spartan-Němec Folder introduced a fresh silhouette into Spartan’s lineup while maintaining the performance and reliability the brand is known for. His ongoing relationship with KA-BAR points to that same ability to honor a legacy while helping push it forward. In that role, he is contributing to the effort to refresh KA-BAR’s product line and help usher the company into a new era of energy, relevance, and growth.
Those same qualities are essential at EBX.
As Managing Director, Ondřej is helping guide a venture that blends European manufacturing tradition with American design innovation. His career path—from his early start at Mikov, to co-founding ANV Knives, to collaborating with Spartan Blades, to contributing to KA-BAR’s evolving design direction, and now helping lead Euro Blade Worx, makes him uniquely suited to this mission.
For EBX, that matters.
Because Euro Blade Worx was built to be more than a factory. It was built to be a knife-making and fulfillment hub for the next generation—one capable of supporting established brands, serving the European market more effectively, and raising the standard for premium knife production across the region.
With Ondřej Němec helping lead the way, EBX stands on a foundation of real experience, proven industry knowledge, and a deep respect for the craft.
And for knife enthusiasts, that is reason to be genuinely excited. With Ondřej helping shape Euro Blade Worx while contributing to both Spartan Blades and KA-BAR, the team behind EBX brings together legacy, innovation, design vision, and serious manufacturing capability in a powerful way. For fans of premium knives, this is more than a promising partnership, t is a glimpse of an exciting future, where respected brands, fresh creative energy, and world-class European production come together to build something truly special.
